United Kingdom Passport Requirements and Instructions
There are three steps to renewing a UK Passport.
Gather Documents to send to A Briggs Passport & Visa Expeditors.
Fill out an A Briggs Passport & Visa Expeditors order form.
Ship your passport application to A Briggs Passport & Visa Expeditors.
NOTE: According to the Embassy of the U.K., "the Summer and the Winter holidays are the busiest periods of the year for issuing passports." The Embassy endeavors (in their words) "to process applications in 4 weeks. Currently, applications are taking 6 weeks to issue. We advise you to make your application well before your travel date. First time applications, and those which do not contain all the supporting documents or the correct fee, will inevitably take longer. If you have a date by which you need the passport to travel, please enter this on page 1 of the passport form."

Your Passport will be valid for ten years. Upon expiration, you will have to obtain a new passport.
Our fee is $150 for normal processing and $225 for rush. We cannot guarantee fast service, however we will make every effort to secure your passport as quickly as possible. If you are leaving shortly, we will try to secure a fast turnaround, but we cannot assure you the Embassy will be able to respond to your request, although they usually do when valid proof of nearby departure is submitted with the application. Our fees do not include shipping costs to and from our office.

Your Passport
Send A Briggs your old passport (if renewing).
This will be returned to you with your new passport.
B
Passport Photos
Send 2 identical passport photographs. Go to a passport photographer to have these taken. Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.
We can prepare passport photographs for you at select A Briggs office locations nationwide. Review our Passport Photo Locations to see if there is one located near you.
NOTE: As of July 1, 2008 the Embassy of Britain can no longer accept a photo of you smiling.
NOTE: As explained on the C1 application, the person who has counter signed the application must countersign one photograph. A notary public is not acceptable as a counter-signatory. See the application for the detailed instructions on the passport photo requirements.

Application Form
Please complete the application form carefully. Read the entire application before you start completing the form. Please note that the application for a new or renewal passport is the same.
Adults, provide one copy of the C1 application form.
If you have any questions about the C1 form, please refer to this document.
If you are replacing a lost or stolen UK passport, you must also include LS01 form.
For children under 16, provide one copy of the C2 form.

Government Fees
The British Embassy fees.
ADULTS OVER THE AGE OF 16 - 32 PAGE -- $244.00 each
ADULTS OVER THE AGE OF 16 - 48 PAGE -- $288.00 each
CHILDREN AGE 16 OR UNDER - 32 PAGE -- $167.00 each
Payments can be made by credit card (Mastercard, Diners Club and Visa), money order or cashier or certified bankers cheque. Please make these payable to the British Embassy Government Accounts. Do not send cash, personal checks or personal certified checks. They are not acceptable forms of payment.
Children's passports are valid for a maximum of 5 years. If issued before 26 March 1998, they are extendable (use Form C2) for a further 5 years free of charge. A fee is payable for every child's 5-year passport issued after 26 March 1998. Young adults aged between 16 and 18 must have written parental consent for the issue of a new passport.
C1/C2/BNO CHANGES TO A PASSPORT -- $205.00 each
REFERRAL Fee for lost/stolen passports (issued outside the US) -- $19.00

Letter of Authorization
A letter of Authorization gives A Briggs the authority to submit and pick-up your passport on your behalf.

If applying for children under 16 years old, please use the authorization letter below. BOTH PARENTS MUST SIGN THE FORM.

Proof of Departure
Submit a copy of your computer-generated itinerary or your ticket from an airline, travel agency, or online booking agency showing your departure from the U.S. FAX or photocopies are acceptable. Please include one copy inside the sealed envelope and one copy outside of the sealed envelope.

A photocopy of your Green Card (front and back) or visa.

Carrier Specific Shipping Notes
Federal Express
On the FedEx air bill, check the box in 4a "FedEx Priority Overnight".
Do NOT ship "First Overnight" unless instructed otherwise by an A Briggs agent; this will delay the delivery of your package.
UPS
The UPS Shipping Document must indicate "UPS Next Day Air". Any other type of UPS service is NOT acceptable.
USPS
For shipments via USPS Express Mail or other shipping providers, please follow the instructions carefully when completing the air bill.
Note: Additional shipping costs must be charged to a credit card for each package shipped to an international destination and the following locations: Alaska, Hawaii, and all U.S. Territories.
Saturday Delivery is an additional $14 when available to US destinations.
Failure to follow these instructions may cause a delay in processing, and could also result in additional charges on your order for shipping, such as: before 8:00am delivery, Saturday Delivery, etc. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us toll free at 1-800-806-0581.
